About Jess
I have a background in Marine Biology and a particular interest in research with applications to conservation. Following my undergraduate degree I participated in several internships including grey whale research, coral restoration and sea turtle rescue/rehab. My masters research focused on elasmobranch fisheries in the Indian Ocean where I carried out a stock assessment for silky sharks and was able to present my work to the Indian Ocean regional tuna fisheries management body.
My current work as a research assistant involves quantifying blue carbon sediment stocks of seagrass beds in Plymouth Sound as part of a NEIRF funded project 'Developing the business case and a pilot transaction for seagrass restoration'.
