Another Another World is a poetic reflection on the transformation of St Ives, Cornwall, over the past 70 years. Inspired by the 1950s documentary Another World, this film revisits the town’s legacy as a haven for artists and fishermen, capturing the evolving identity of a place once romanticised for its idyllic simplicity.
Another Another World explores the cultural shifts that have shaped St Ives – from the counterculture movement of the 1960s to the rise of surf culture in the 1970s and 1980s, the impact of housing booms and rural poverty, the decline of traditional industries, and its eventual global recognition in the art world. The film culminates in the present day, observing those who continue to live and create in the town.
Written and narrated by Danny Fox and directed by Jackson Whitefield, Another Another World is not a remake but a conversation with its predecessor, offering a contemporary meditation on place, memory and change.
Director Jackson Whitefield presents the premiere of his film, Another Another World as part of Danny Fox's exhibition, Kingdom, in The Levinsky Gallery.
